Advice for Artists
Written Evaluation:
Richard Polsky will provide a 500-word written evaluation of your work that gets to the point. Commentary will focus on the work’s content and aesthetic approach. Feedback may include remarks on subject matter and technique, along with practical concerns like potential audience for the work. What’s required of the artist is to send 10-12 jpegs of recent imagery along with a brief artist statement.
Charge for this service is $250.
Phone Consultation:
Richard offers a one-hour phone consultation that is geared toward career advice. Topics can include: finding a local gallery, securing New York representation, networking the national art scene, how the gallery system works, expectations of art dealers, artist responsibilities, and books every artist should read.
Charge for this service is $450.
Studio Visit:
For those artists who feel it would be beneficial for Richard to see the actual work and discuss it in person, he is willing to spend a morning or afternoon with you at your studio. Charges for this service to be determined by factors such as travel distance.
